SONY XPERIA M4 AQUA MAKES A SPLASH, OFFERING SUPERIOR WATER RESISTANCE

Sony Mobile has released the Xperia M4 Aqua, said to be the most waterproof smartphone on the market.
The Xperia M4 Aqua is exclusive to Optus in Australia.

The phone comes with many firsts for Sony, the first Sony phone to have cap-less microUSB charging, an Octa-core 64-bit processor, Android’s latest operating system pre-installed, and as mentioned prior, the first phone to have a water resistant rating of IP68, the highest rating for a smartphone.

“Sony has a renewed focus on its mid-range tier of products,” said Sony’s John Featherstone in a media release, “The Xperia M4 Aqua is the perfect representation of this new wave of competitively priced handsets, with no compromises.”

“Offering many of the standout features made famous by our Xperia Z Series; superior imaging, up to two-day battery life… and waterproofing… – Xperia M4 Aqua brings a proposition and price that make this product a compelling offer in the mid-tier segment of the market.”

The phone features a 5-inch HD screen with IPS, an external camera that can take 13MP photos, an internal camera that can take 5MP photos, and a battery that can last for two days.

As mentioned prior, the Xperia M4 Aqua runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, an octa-core 64bit processor, and offers 4G/LTE for fast data.

Unlike the previously reported on Xperia E4, the Xperia M4 Aqua is a more high-end phone, boasting quite a bit of power for a higher price.

The Xperia M4 Aqua is available now exclusively to Optus through Optus’ $40 My Plan Plus plan, for a minimum total of $960 across 24-months.
